CVSA International Roadcheck 2019

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) International Roadcheck is set to take place on June 4th – 6th. During this 72 hour period, commercial motor vehicle inspectors in jurisdictions across North America will be conducting inspections on commercial motor vehicles and drivers.

As in previous years, International Roadcheck places emphasis on a particular area of violations and this year they are focusing on steering components and suspension systems as a reminder of their importance to highway safety.

Aside from the vehicle violation focus, drivers will also be inspected to ensure they are in compliance. Ensuring that your drivers have all the required documentation in-cab as well as accurate hours of service ELD data is paramount to successfully passing these inspections.

Drivers will be required to provide their driver’s license (operating credentials), Medical Examiner’s Certificate and Skill Performance Evaluation Certificate (if applicable), driver’s record of duty status and vehicle inspection report(s) (if applicable). Inspectors will also check drivers for seat belt usage, sickness, fatigue and apparent alcohol and/or drug impairment.
